Algeria and Croatia take territories on oneworld™ network to 137: Two more countries and another 12 destinations are being linked up to the oneworld™ network, expanding the alliance's lead as the most international airline grouping still further.

British Airways has launched flights to the Algerian capital Algiers, and will start services to Croatia's Dubrovnik from 28 March, both three times a week from London Gatwick. They take the number of territories served by oneworld 's to 137. The alliance already offered flights to more countries than any of its competitors.
BA is adding another four new destinations to the oneworld map:

• Bari in Italy, served three times a week from 30 March.
• Bastia, on the French island of Corsica, from 2 May.
• Cagliari, on the Italian island of Sardinia, Italy, also thrice weekly, from 1 May.
• Catania, on the Italian island of Sicily, three times a week as well, from 2 May.
  
  It has also resumed flights to Islamabad, although Pakistan remained on the oneworld map through Cathay Pacific's services between Hong Kong and Karachi.
  
  Meanwhile, its franchisee British Mediterranean Airways, a oneworld affiliate, inaugurates services to Yekaterinburg in Russia three times a week from 10 May.
  
  Across the Atlantic, another two popular resorts in Mexico are linking up to oneworld from 31 January through new American Airlines non-stops to and from its Dallas/Fort Worth hub - Cozumel daily and Ixtapa/Zihuantanejo twice a week. AA is also bring on-line Liberia/Guanacaste, in Costa Rica, with three services a week from Miami from 31 January.
  
  In the Pacific, Rotorua will be brought on-line to oneworld from 1 April, with Qantas linking the It will link the New Zealand North Island airport daily with Christchurch. The new service will take Qantas' NZ domestic operations to almost 300 departures a week.
  
  These latest destinations take the number of airports served by oneworld 's member airlines to 576 worldwide.
  
  Five new routes launched to home territory of member elect SWISS: oneworld 's established members have announced five new routes to Switzerland since Swiss International Air Lines became a member elect, in September. Meantime, preparatory work is well underway to bring SWISS on board the alliance, during the middle of 2004.
  
  Iberia Regional has launched daily flights link between Zurich, SWISS' main hub, and both Seville and Valencia, and between Barcelona hub and Basel, where the new recruit has its headquarters, six days a week. Aer Lingus starts services between its Dublin hub and Zurich in late March, while Finnair has been operating flights between the Swiss financial centre and Kittilä, in Lapland, during the winter peak season.
  
  Cathay's back in Beijing after 13-year gap: Cathay Pacific is back in mainland China, re-establishing services between its Hong Kong hub and Beijing, initially three times a week, after a 13-year break. oneworld partners British Airways and Finnair also serve the Chinese capital.
  
  BA and AA expand code-sharing to include their first transatlantic routes: American Airlines and British Airways have started code-sharing across the Atlantic for the first time. The AA code is now carried on British Airways' flights between Manchester and New York JFK, while the BA prefix has been placed on AA's Manchester-Chicago O'Hare services. Both routes are served daily. The two carriers have no plans to code-share on London transatlantic routes. In further expansion of their code-sharing agreement, the BA code will also be added to American Airways' flights serving Fort Lauderdale, Greenville, Madison and Portland, with the AA flight prefix placed on BA flights on London Heathrow-Nairobi and London Gatwick-Pristina
  
  ..as AA launches Boston-Manchester route: American Airlines will launch daily non-stops between Boston and Manchester from 15 May, providing the first scheduled link between the two cities. It will fly the route throughout the summer season, using Boeing 757s offering a single-class service. Other new routes announced by AA include:
• Boston-Montego Bay, on Sundays from 1 February, using Boeing 757s. The airline already serves the Jamaican holiday centre with twice daily non-stops to and from Miami, and dailies to and from New York JFK.
• From its Dallas/Fort Worth hub to Providence (Rhode Island).
• From New York JFK to Phoenix from 31 January, with an initial two round-trips a day.
  
  Qantas adds more Hong Kong links and another two domestic connections: Qantas is improving links between its Australia home and the Hong Kong hub of oneworld partner Cathay Pacific with the launch of a link to and from Perth from 29 March with an initial three Boeing 767 flights a week, and increased frequencies from both Brisbane and Melbourne. The Australian partner is also launching non-stops between its Sydney base and the popular Western Australian holiday centre of Broome, initially once a week, and twice-weekly services linking Perth with the Queensland tourism destination of Cairns. It already serves Broome and Cairns from other points.
  
  Finnair expands self-service check-in to connecting flights: Finnair is to enable passengers flying from its Helsinki home base or Stockholm Arlanda hub to check-in for connecting flights, using the airline's self-service kiosks – including for return sectors if they depart within 24 hours. The connecting flight can even be a code-shared service or one operated completely by another airline, so long as the first sector is operated by Finnair and carries its AY flight code.
  
  BA extends new Club World to Dallas, Bermuda and Houston: British Airways' new Club World longhaul business class, featuring fully flat beds, along with the airline's premium economy World Traveller Plus cabin, have now been extended to its routes from London Gatwick serving oneworld partner American Airlines' Dallas/Fort Worth hub, and Bermuda and Houston. The up-graded services are already available on London Heathrow flights and will be extended to more routes soon.
  
  Aer Lingus to resume Dublin-Bristol: Aer Lingus is to resume its own flights between Dublin and Bristol from 28 March after a three-year break. It is the 12th new service announced by the Irish oneworld member for 2004.
  
  Cathay increases Colombo frequencies with new Singapore routing: Cathay Pacific is increasing frequencies to Colombo to daily with the launch of a new route to the Sri Lankan capital. It currently operates there from its Hong Kong home base via Bangkok four times a week. From 1 March, these services will be augmented with three flights a week via Singapore.
  
  Iberia to launch new Manchester and Marrakech routes: Iberia is to launch new services to Manchester and Marrakech, through its regional affiliate Air Nostrum. It will link the north of England airport with its Madrid hub daily, with 50-seat regional jets. It already serves Manchester from Barcelona. Marrakech is also already on the oneworld map, with services to and from London by British Airways franchisee and oneworld affiliate GB Airways. Both new routes launch on 1 February. As an affiliate member of the alliance, Air Nostrum offers full oneworld services and benefits.
